The DESRIST Doctoral Consortium is a symposium for doctoral students at any stage of their dissertation phase. The Doctoral Consortium has two objectives: The first is to encourage doctoral students to write, submit and present their dissertation projects and receive feedback, guidance and support. The second is to build a platform for fruitful discussions, meeting other doctoral students and exchanging ideas and opinions.
DESRIST Doctoral Consortium Chairs and Members will study all the papers and comment on the content of the thesis as well as its presentation. Doctoral students will have 20 minutes for their presentation, which should include the main subject of the thesis, what has been achieved so far and how the work will be continued. Additional 25 minutes are reserved for discussion and feedback from both the Doctoral Consortium Members and the other doctoral students. This results in slots of 45 minutes for each doctoral student.
When was the last time you were thinking about the state of your doctoral thesis? Have you ever written a paper about your dissertation project or tried to convince others of the significance of your research problem and the novelty of your solution to it? Have you ever exposed your thoughts to other researchers?
Writing a paper for the DESRIST Doctoral Consortium not only gives you the opportunity to reflect upon your research questions and problem and your ways of approaching them, but also to subject your approach to an audience of experienced researchers and to receive feedback and guidance for your future efforts.
To apply for presentation at the DESRIST Doctoral Consortium, please submit a paper addressing the following questions. Your paper should exclusively address your thesis and related issues.
Please submit a paper of your doctoral work by uploading it to the easychair submission system.

The papers will then be distributed among the Doctoral Consortium Members for review. Submissions must conform to the DESRIST 2010 full paper format and should not exceed four pages including all text, figures, references and appendices. Submissions must be handed in electronically in PDF format.
Submissions will be judged based on the following criteria
